About Ujamaa Villages

This is a ground breaking book about utilizing ecological design ,  green technology along with ideas of sustainable living as a resource or reference to offer solutions to the many issues that the Black community faces in western society. The cumulative conclusion that we reach when looking at a  "green solutions" for Black communities is "Ujamaa Village"- Culturally and Ecologically Developed Human Habitats for Black people

                                                                    .

The Author &  U.V Vision

Hi, my name is Menhuam Ayele and I am an architect student and an author. As a part of my thesis project I have written a book entitled: Ujamaa Village: Building and Developing “Green” Africa Townships for the Black Community (Black Towns)”. This book has turned into a purpose driven vision that I intend to share with the Black community about sustainable community development.

Through embracing the emerging sectors of the green economy and industries; and by implementing ecological design solutions to the many issues that challenge the Black community; we will eventually see real, practical, and tangible transformation take place in our communities.

Without a Vision

"Without a vision; the people will perish".

Ujamaa Village is a vision to focalize the idea of unity, self determination and economic empowerment by ecouraging Black people to support the planning and re-building of areas that we dominate in population :economically, socially, culturally, politically, environmentally etc, with a green and sustainable emphasis.
